What is nanotechnology?

The word ''nano'' comes from the Greek language, meaning ''small''. Nanotechnology is a technology

consisting of small particles  - nanoparticles, measured in nanometers (one billionth of a meter or 80,000

times the thicken than a human hair). When the relationship size is compared, the nano-particle can be

compared with a football, and football compared with the Earth.

Nanotechnology is the essence is of small particles - atoms and molecules and their compounds - practical use.

Nanoparticles diameter is 80,000 times smaller than a human's hair. Researchers working with this technology

have already achieved a number of unique and sensational breakthroughs in medicine, mechanics and chemistry.

 

 

What's common between nanotechnology and protection against dirt?

 

Everyone understands that protection against dirt is a variety of items (their surface) resistance to liquids and other

substances. In nature, this phenomenon is known as the lotus effect, because the lotus flower has a natural self-cleaning

mechanism, therefore, the water drops almost have no contact with the surface, as they slide down taking the dirt and

dust with them.
